When I find myself with time on my hands, I take short clips (usually starring me) and experiment!

Waterflora

I’ve been creating and recreating this project for a while in both Notch Builder and Adobe After Effects. Working with the unique shape of the Lab stage at Illuminarium, I am exploring the curve of the walls as well as the scale of the water drop animations.

Compartmentalization

I finished my senior year at SCAD in quarantine which was… unexpected. But, I found inspiration from the items in my parent’s unfinished basement. I organized an independent study with one of my favorite professors to explore my interest in projection and installation art. I used MadMapper to project images into a bookcase I found in the basement.

Ladies Night

I hadn’t done a personal experiment in a while so I whipped out a green screen, put on some make up, and bribed my dog with treats. I wanted to do some small animations for some extra visuals. Overall, I was just playing with a cutesy theme and a green screen.

Couch

I was inspired by the song “Little Girls” by Youth Tunes to make a scratchy, lofi collage of video, animation, and time echoes.

Living Room Floor

With this experiment, I wanted to create a small scene in my living room where I staged props, pillows, and blankets. I then keyed out the wall and replaced it with footage from driving over a bridge. I wanted to mess with colors and try my hand at a little animation.

TakeCare

This was an experiment of repetition through addition/subtraction in each segment. The purpose of the composited images were to be a comparison of self care and care towards others. In each segment I started to take away pieces of the video and rely more on the animations I created.

Post Apocalyptic Scavengers

This was one of my first experiments using a 360 degree camera. I wanted to set the scene of a wasteland featuring characters I styled. Since this is a 360 degree video, I wanted there to be actions happening everywhere the viewer looked. To achieve this, I created pairs of characters that had their own purpose until the end where they all begin to interact.
